    Gary Brackenridge
    Global Head of Asset Management 
    Linedata

    Gary currently serves as the Global Head of Linedata’s Asset Management Business. Gary has spent the past 18 years in capital markets technology specifically focused on solutions for investment managers and their service providers. Most recently he served as Head of Sales for Linedata Northern Europe and Head of Linedata’s Strategic Initiatives.

    Prior to Linedata, Gary was the President and Chief Executive Officer of ITP Corporation until its sale in 2010. Gary is an alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he studied Management Science and Economics.

     

    Joseph M Camilleri
    Chief Officer 
    BOV Fund Services Limited

    Joseph M Camilleri was appointed Chief Officer for BOV Fund Services Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of BOV, as from January 2015. Joseph joined Bank of Valletta in March 1987.

    Throughout his career at the Bank, he has held a number of senior key executive positions including Head of IT Systems, Executive Head Wealth Management, Chief Officer Human Resources and most recently Chief Officer for Strategy & Process Management. Joseph also held the positions of secretary to the Bank’s Executive Committee, vice chairperson of the Bank’s Trust Committee, and was also a member of the Bank’s Executive Committee.

    Joseph M Camilleri holds a B.Sc. in Management and IT and also an MBA both from the University of Malta. He is married with two daughters.

     

    Bertrand Cocagne

    Bertrand joined Linedata 15 years ago and is currently the Lending & Leasing Product Manager. Bertrand sets the strategic directions of the products, guaranteeing the coherence of the applied solutions in regards to the needs of the business users. As a specialist in Front Office solutions he assisted, in previous positions, some of our most important clients in the implementation of Linedata solutions.

    Before joining Linedata, Bertrand worked for various software editors, particularly for a specialized press-content editing software company, which led to the publishing of the first editorial websites of some of the most prestigious French press institutions. Bertrand holds an engineering degree in applied mathematics and a postgraduate degree in artificial intelligence.

     

    William de Vries
    Fund Manager

    William de Vries joined Triodos Investment Management in the role of Fund Manager in January 2017. Before that, he worked for over 9 years at Kempen Capital Management in Amsterdam as Head of Core Fixed Income. William has over 25 years of experience in the industry. After graduating in International Economics from Tilburg University, he started his career in 1991 at Bank Nederlandse Gemeenten and later as a Portfolio Manager Fixed Income at Stichting ASW and Mn-Services. In 1999 he joined Philips Pension Fund as Head of Fixed Income and in 2003 he became Head of Portfolio management.  In 2005 he joined Merrill Lynch Investment Managers who had acquired Philips Investment Management. In 2006 MLIM merged with BlackRock, for which William became relationship manager for institutional investors in the Netherlands. William is registered as a DSI- and CEFA (VBA) analyst.

     

    Geoff Galbraith

    Geoff became Man Group COO in Sept 2014. Geoff joined GLG in 2006 as Head of Middle Office Accounting, and was appointed Head of Trading Services for the firm in 2010 following the acquisition of GLG by Man. In 2011 Geoff was responsible for integrating the single investment management trading operations functions across Man and in 2012 this role was expanded to cover the fund of fund operations. In early 2013 Geoff became GLG Chief Operating Officer where his role was more business focused before becoming the Group COO in Sept 2014. Prior to joining GLG, Geoff worked for Merrill Lynch, where he worked across a number of areas, including Cash Equity, Credit Derivative and Structured Products. Geoff qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2000 with Ernst and Young, where he completed 3 years of audit training. Geoff has an Honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham.  

     

    Ed Gouldstone
    Head of Product Management - Asset Management

    Ed Gouldstone is Head of Product Management for Linedata's Asset Management business, responsible for global product strategy for the company's buy-side solutions.  Prior to his current role, Ed managed Linedata’s Hedge Fund products and had responsibility for European client services and delivery for clients across Linedata's suite of solutions for global asset managers. Since joining Linedata in 2004, Ed has held positions in support, client services and development focused on the global hedge fund community. Ed holds a BSC in Mathematics from the University of Bristol and has held the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation since 2007. 

     

    Simon Goldie
    Head of Asset Finance

    Simon joined the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA) as their Head of Asset Finance in May 2014. He is responsible for developing the FLA Asset Finance Division’s public policy work including dealing with regulation, legislation and Government initiatives that impact on the asset finance industry.

    He has taken a particular interest in funding for SMEs. Simon’s background is in public policy and communications. He has worked for membership bodies and the commercial sector including the Chartered Institute of Taxation, the Association of Consultancy and Engineering and LexisNexis. In 2009, he was listed as one of the top 100 lobbyists in the UK and in 2016, he was listed in Leasing Life’s Power 50.

    Jonathan Hinkley

    Jonathan Hinkley is the Senior Director of Middle Office Services & is responsible for our Middle Office Solutions delivery, handling the staffing and technology for all clients. Jonathan joined Gravitas after having spent 17 years at various administrator and investment management companies, including GlobeOp Financial Services SA, where he was responsible for fund services, leading fund accounting and operations of multi-billion dollar hedge funds. Jonathan has extensive expertise in project execution, cross-functional delivery and process improvement, fund accounting and fund pre-launch consulting. He has a BA in Accountancy from Bentley University and a CPA license from Massachusetts. 

     

    Shaun Hooper

    Shaun is the Head of Linedata Fund Services’ Product Development and Technical Services department. After a few years in the Avionics industry, Shaun joined Linedata where he has worked in various business and technical areas over the past 20+ years.

    Shaun is based in London and has a global team located mainly in Paris, London, Boston and Tunis. This technology group works closely with the rest of Linedata to support our clients and to deliver new and enhanced solutions.

     

    Dr. Ian Hunt
    Expert Business Advisor 

    Dr Ian Hunt is a well-known authority on buy-side business process and technology, with a strong reputation in order management, risk, derivatives and investment automation. He is a frequent conference speaker, and contributes regularly to industry publications.

    Ian has advised many leading buy-side players on business strategy, investment process, operations technology and alternatives.  His clients include M&G, BNPP IP, Legal & General, Insight Investment, Fidelity, Hiscox, Threadneedle, Royal London and Hermes.

    Ian has acted for the last 6 years as the investment management expert witness on a set of Madoff-related trials, and has provided expert investment evidence to a range of other investment fraud cases in the UK.  Over the same period, Ian has been Subject Matter Expert for IBOR at M&G, assisted LGIM to upgrade their front office technology, and led a global operating model review for BNP Paribas Investment Partners.  He is currently advising Insight Investment, M&G and Linedata on Blockchain initiatives.

    Fathom are a passionate user experience consultancy who create beautiful software for capital markets, for clients including Tradeweb, Goldman Sachs, the Bank of England, Standard Chartered, Commerzbank and Linedata.

    Stu’s UX journey has taken him from the early days of interactive TV (remember that?) to information architecture expert in the modern finch space. You will not work with someone who cares more, gets from problem to solution quicker, has greater energy and commitment and does all this with the grace and humour that makes the world a better place or “with no crap and rubbish in it,” as you might hear him say.
     
    Outside of Fathom, Stu has previously dabbled enjoyably in creative writing, holds a PhD in an abstract field of computational psychology, and cooks fantastic curries. He might also claim to have been rather a dab-hand with a 175g Ultimate Frisbee disc back in the day.

     

    Dr. Abdalla Kablan

    Dr Abdalla Kablan is a serial entrepreneur, and fintech expert. He specialises in the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the design of complex financial systems. He is the group CEO of SIXCAP Technologies and founder of Hippo Data, a Fintech and AI startup which was the first Maltese company to be selected by Microsoft to be a part of Microsoft Ventures, UK. Hippo Data's VR platform was also featured at the World Economic Forum 2017 in Davos.

    Furthermore, he is the founder of Scheduit, an intelligent business oriented matchmaking and professional networking platform. Dr Kablan is also an academic at the University of Malta where he lectures and researches topics related to computational intelligence, financial engineering, and financial data science.

     

    David Kiddie

    David Kiddie has attracted, retained and developed high quality investment professionals throughout his career, and has worked with clients globally and across all channels. From 1985 – 2000 he was responsible for European equity investments at firms such as Baring Asset Management and Hill Samuel/Lloyds. Since 2000 in roles at BNP Paribas Investment Partners, ABN Amro Asset Management and AMP Capital Investors (Sydney), he has continued to manage investment professionals.     Mr Agamemnon Kotrozos is General Manager of Investment Division and Corporate Strategy of Eurobank Asset Management MFMC, as well as Chief Executive Officer and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eurobank Fund Management Company (Luxembourg) S.A..

    He served previous roles as : Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hellenic Postbank MFMC, Director of International Activities and Strategy Planning of Eurobank EFG MFMC, General Manager and member of the Board of Directors of Eurobank EFG Fund Management Company (Luxembourg) S.A. and Assistant Executive Director at Eureko, Dutch Insurance Group (subsidiary of Rabobank) in Paris and Amsterdam focusing on Strategy, M&A’s and Asset Management.

    He was also Senior Fund Manager and Head of Equity Desk at Interamerican MFMC for several years. He is certified Portfolio Manager from Hellenic Capital Market Commission.     Paul McLernon

    Paul is Chief Operating Officer and a Partner of Pensato Capital LLP.  Pensato was founded in 2008 and currently manage a European equity long/short strategy on both a Cayman domiciled fund structure and an Irish domiciled UCITS compliant structure.  Pensato also manage a long only European equity strategy on a Cayman domiciled structure.
    Paul joined Pensato in September 2013 as Deputy COO, becoming COO in April 2016.  Paul was also invited to become a Partner effective January 2017.  Prior to joining Pensato, Paul worked at Goldman Sachs for 13 years.  In his last 8 years at Goldman Sachs Paul worked in the Prime Brokerage and Equity Finance Trading business, where he was responsible for leading and developing a broad range of new products and business initiatives.  Prior to that, Paul started his Goldman Sachs career in their Operations Division. Paul holds a MEng Hons from Loughborough University.

    Ross joined Baillie Gifford & Co, an Edinburgh based independent investment manager, in 2009. Ross currently holds the role of Accounting & Data Solutions Manager and his remit covers a broad range of responsibilities.

    He has oversight of tailoring and shaping both accounting & data software products to accommodate bespoke business requirements. Ross is accountable for the management of software providers, data vendors and the governance surrounding the contractual obligations associated with these areas. Ross has over 15 years of industry experience in the financial technology environment with additional experience at firms including both HSBC and Scottish Provident. Away from work Ross loves to submerge himself in his passions for music, football and mountain biking.

     

    Virginie O'Shea

    Virginie O’Shea is a research director with Aite Group, heading up the Institutional Securities & Investments practice and covering data management, collateral management, legal entity onboarding, and post-trade technology. She brings to the firm more than 13 years of experience in tracking financial technology developments in the capital markets sector, with a particular focus on regulatory developments and standards.

    Ms. O’Shea has spoken at industry conferences including Sibos, TradeTech, FISD events, and ISIPS, and is actively engaged in a number of post-trade industry standards groups.

    Most recently, Ms. O’Shea was managing editor of A-Team Group’s flagship publication,A-Team Insight, where she covered financial technology from the front to back office, including trading technology, market data, low latency, risk management, regulatory impacts on IT, and reference data. During her time at the firm, she was heavily involved in planning risk and data management events and creating multimedia offerings, including podcasts, webinars, and video interviews. Prior to this, Ms. O’Shea was group editor of Investor Services Journal and Alternatives magazine, focused on the asset servicing and buy-side communities. Before that, she was editor of STP Magazine and online service stpzone.com, where she focused on financial technology in the capital markets. Ms. O’Shea holds a Master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh.

     

    Thorsten Peisl

    Thorsten has fifteen years of post-trade industry experience at State Street and Deutsche Bank, and is recognised as a leading figure in the industry. He has developed multi-million dollar revenue products, taking them from concept through to market adoption (i.e. Collateral
    Management). At State Street, Thorsten initiated and launched a firm-wide corporate venture program to scout and invest in innovative and strategically aligned FinTech startups. Until end 2015 and before moving into the startup environment himself, Thorsten set up a new data and
    analytics business division as part of the management team and additionally led the corporate
    blockchain efforts in Europe for State Street.

    Since January 2016 Thorsten is Chief Executive at RISE Financial Technologies . RISE is an independent distributed software development company that focuses post-trade solutions. RISE works with and helps incumbent players to gradually establish new DLT-based industry verticals in parallel to existing market infrastructures.

    Thorsten grew up in Austria, completed programs at LBS, IMD, Harvard and has lived and worked in Frankfurt, London, New York, Boston, and Singapore.

    Mark Seaman

    Mark Seaman is the Managing Director of Collaborative Outsourcing and manages Gravitas Fund Services and Gravitas Technology Services, delivering turnkey and bespoke solutions that span risk management, research, operations and technology. Prior to joining Gravitas, Mark was a Partner and CIO for Spectrum Global Fund Administration where he was instrumental in the formation of the VCOO fund administration services offering and the creation of the required technology platform.     Matt Smith

    Matt Smith is head of news for HFMWeek, HFM Global’s flagship news and business intelligence network for the hedge fund industry.

    Based out of London, he is news editor for the weekly magazine and manages a team of reporters.

    He is also head of content and contributing editor of CTA Intelligence, HFM’s specialist network for senior professional in the managed futures industry, and a regular moderator of HFM’s monthly breakfast panel’s discussions in London.

    Before joining HFMWeek at the end of 2012, he was an award-winning reporter covering business and politics on daily newspapers.
     

     

    Paul Spendiff

    Paul Spendiff joined the technology group at Apex in October 2012. He is currently Head of European Sales for Apex Fund Services and Managing Director of Apex’s UK operations. In his sales role Paul works with new client opportunities and existing clients to launch funds in 24 jurisdictions and co-ordinate business development for Apex’s 8 European offices.

    Apex has more than 30 product offerings and key aspect of Paul’s role is to analyse the requirements of new fund launches and provide comprehensive solutions. In his role as MD of Apex Fund Services (UK) Ltd Paul runs a team of more than 40  staff, providing fund administration to more than 120 on-and-offshore fund structures.

    Prior to joining Apex, Paul ran his own financial data, research, publishing and events group for seven years having started his career at Thomson Financial (now Thomson Reuters) Paul has been a Managing Director of UK based companies for more than 14 years. Paul is a graduate in Economic Geography from Queen Mary, University of London.

     

    Lindsay Town

    Lindsay has been in the asset finance and leasing industry for over 40 years and has been involved in an extensive range of product and industry sectors, from high value cross border transactions to point of sale consumer finance business including major aerospace and marine sectors through to private motor vehicles.
    His career to date covers several organisations, including Barclays, LloydsTSB and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and has held a range of roles from transactional to initiating and leading material strategic change as well as acquisitions and disposals. He has worked both in the UK and USA.

    Latterly, Lindsay was with HBOS plc (Bank of Scotland) where he was responsible for leading a wide portfolio of asset finance and leasing businesses, which consisted at its peak of approximately £18bn of funded assets and over 2,250 colleagues.   

    Having taken early retirement from Lloyds/HBOS in 2009, Lindsay now works in an advisory role as Chief Executive of IAA-Advisory Ltd in addition to being a non-executive director with several companies.  He was formerly a Director of the Finance & Leasing Association and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.

     

    Jon Trinder
    Fund Services Product Manager

    Jon Trinder is a Product Manager in Linedata’s Fund Services business line, responsible for product direction for Linedata ICON as well as for Linedata I-BOR and Linedata I-CIPS (a NAV validation and unit pricing engine). As such, he is accountable for the development and implementation of product strategy, liaising closely with customers, the industry and personnel across Linedata.

    In a fund administration career spanning 17 years, Jon had various roles at the Bank of New York Mellon and State Street from investor servicing where he helped to launch the first fund supermarket, to managing client facing net asset valuation, financial reporting, and project management teams.  Prior to joining Linedata at the start of 2017, Jon was the lead product manager for the asset management segment for the UK, Middle East and Africa at State Street where he led a number of initiatives including launching the first UK retail Property Authorised Investment Fund and developing a Solvency II platform.

     

    Benoit Vesco

    Benoît Vesco, Managing Director of Meeschaert Asset Management
    Benoît Vesco is Managing Director of Meeschaert Asset Management and Head of Fixed Income Departement.
     
    After graduating in engineering and obtaining a master's degree in finance from the ESCP in 1992, he joined the Meeschaert Group in 1996 as a bond manager and became responsible for fixed income funds.
     
    Benoît Vesco holds an actuarial degree from CNAM and has been a member of the French Societe des Analystes Financiers (SFAF) since 1999.
    He obtained the certification of CAIA - Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst - in 2008.
